Champions Hampstead
We’re the champions
THE heroes of Hampstead Football Club were the toast of the town on Wednesday when they won the Under-10s Champions League at the Winchester Project in Swiss Cottage. The under-9s side more than held their own against teams that were a year older, as they won the prestigious competition without losing a game.
Representing Holland’s Ajax, Hampstead came from a goal down in the final to beat Fitzrovia, who were flying the flag for Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
Striker turned midfielder Riordan Holzwarth levelled the scores with a super free-kick, before sealing a 2-1 win with a spectacular individual goal.
