Curtis and Fabio shine as cadets
DEXTROUS duo Curtis Miller and Fabio Artesi continued to take the fencing world by storm on Sunday when they represented Great Britain in the Cadet Sabre World Championships in Belfast. Competing in the men’s under-17s competition, the two young protégés from Camden Fencing Club showcased their sabre skills as they went up against some of the best young fencers from across the globe.
It was Miller who produced Britain’s best result in the tournament, finishing 15th out of a field of more than 70 competitors.
The Holloway youngster looked sharp as he overcame top talents from Turkey and America to reach the last 16, where he was narrowly beaten 15-14.
Club and country compatriot Fabio was one of the youngest entries in the competition and more than held his own with two impressive victories in his pool matches. The athletic 14-year-old took 45th spot overall after being beaten by one of Russia’s most promising fencers
