The Gunners do a Spurs with impressive four-star performance at Anfield
ON Saturday, Arsenal crashed out of the FA Cup with an underwhelming performance against Chelski at Wembley.
Unfortunately, they managed to deflect attention from this disappointment with a magnificently undeserved draw against Liverpool on Tuesday. The game bore a vast similarity to our spectacular 4-4 draw against the Gooners earlier on in the season when we had four attempts on goal and scored them all.
In bizarre fashion, Andrey Arshavin managed to score every time he touched the ball at Anfield. He really should start giving Emmanuel Adebayor and Nicklas Bendtner tips, although perhaps the latter is beyond the point of rescue.
Spurs continue to win, of course, and it was a pleasure watching our tiny, but talented, side piling misery onto the farce of a football club that is Newcastle United.
I wonder how they plan to fill their 58,000-seater stadium in the Championship?
Spurs now find themselves in their traditional resting place of recent times – mid-table. Although it’s comfortable, we can’t get stuck here for long. So come on Europa and come on Heurelho Gomes – concentrate, you’re still terrifying.
