Desolation row: queue for Bob
MORE than 50 years after he played his first gigs on British soil in a Camden pub, Bob Dylan returned on Sunday to the Roundhouse.
The special performance was for fans only, although there were rumours that a huge amount of tickets had been given away to corporate guests.
Broadcaster Mariella Frostrup, comedian Stephen Merchant, and The Magic Numbers were among the more well-known fans seen entering the venue. Fans who were lucky enough to get a ticket were so eager to catch a glimpse of the folk legend they queued for more than half a mile, in a line stretching across Primrose Hill bridge.
For those that missed out, it was a nailbiting wait outside to see if anyone had spares to sell. Touts were heard to buy the scant few on offer for £150 before running off to sell at a starting price of £600.
One fan offered no money. She stood outside the Roundhouse with a placard offering a smile in exchange for a ticket. |
