Crash man fighting for his life
A 29-YEAR-OLD man was fighting for his life last night (Wednesday) following a horror smash with a van in Euston.
The injured man, who was driving a black BMW, was rushed to the Royal London Hospital with a suspected head fracture. His condition was described as stable but life-threatening.
Three passengers in the cream Mercedes Sprinter van were taken to University College Hospital with minor injuries.
The collision happened at the junction of Eversholt Street, Euston Road and Upper Woburn Place just after 2.30am on Tuesday morning.
Roads were reopened just before 9am, disrupting rush-hour traffic.
Chaos returned to the roads later the same day when a power cut in the Euston Road area left roads operating without traffic lights and buildings in darkness for more than two hours at lunchtime. Nearly a thousand customers were affected by the failure.
EDF Energy said last night it was caused by a fault on an underground cable at 12.07pm, and could have been caused by rainfall. |
