Final thrills at Market Road
GOALS won prizes on Friday as scores of teams flocked to Market Road for cup final night in the Camden and Islington Youth League.
The first big winners were Hampstead, who beat Belsize Park 1-0 to capture the Under-9s Alan Michael Browne Challenge Cup.
The only goal of the game came midway through the second-half when player of the match Riordan Holzwarth set-up Kai Steinsson Brady, who smashed home from close range.
In the under-10s age group, ‘A’ Class were crowned cup kings, beating Angel Islington on penalties, while Futebol De Salao won the under-11s tourney after beating Angel 1-0.
Hampstead clinched their second trophy of the night in the Under-12s Challenge Cup with a thumping 3-0 win over Chapel Boys.
Two-goal hero Lorik Krasniqi fired Somers Town to glory in the under-13s final as they added more silverware to their collection with an excellent 2-0 victory over Peel.
Islington-based side Futebol De Salao continued their celebrations in the under-14s tournament when they beat Islington Admiral Youth 3-0 to lift their second major trophy of the night.
Isledon Wolves were also victorious after beating Lyndhurst in the under-15s’ final.
A goal either side of half time from Enoch Adjie put Wolves firmly in the driving seat, before Michael Dollo wrapped up a magnificent 3-0 victory.
