Golden boy Patrick wins

JUBILANT junior Patrick Ward was celebrating on Sunday when he picked up a winners’ medal at the Middlesex Minors Championships, which was held at Hayes Working Mens Club.
The talented youngster, who trains at Islington Boxing Club in Archway, secured a points win over Alfie Smith of Dale Youth ABC in the 39kg weight category after impressing judges with his cleaner, more accurate, shots.
There was further success for Islington with highly-rated duo Darren Ballinger and Garv Krasniqi.
They both were in winning form with gold medals in their respective weight categories at the Haringey Multi-Nations Box Cup, held at Alexandra Palace.
Akram Ibrahim also performed well despite missing out on a medal.
