Bags of energy: Charles Dance and friends warm up by lending a hand on Heath
IT is a good way to warm the hands after a bracing early morning swim, admitted actor Charles Dance as he joined pupils from Gospel Oak school to pick litter on Hampstead Heath.
The star of film, stage and television – from The Jewel In The Crown and Bleak House to Gosford Park and Shadowlands – is a regular swimmer in the Parliament Hill Lido and joined many others helping to clear the Heath of rubbish.
The pick, organised by volunteer group Heath Hands, took most of Monday morning and by the time they had reached Kenwood House from Parliament Hill Fields they had filled more than 40 bin bags. |
