National challenges: Cumberland girls face two UK tourney tests
PLAYERS from Cumberland Netball Club are gearing up for two titanic semi-final showdowns on Saturday as they bid to wrap up their most successful ever season.
The club’s ‘A’ team will be hoping to edge a step closer to successfully defending their crown when they face St Helen’s School at Northwood Sport Centre in the final four of the National Challenge Plate.
Meanwhile Cumberland’s ‘B’ team counterparts will be in Kilburn taking on Poly Netball Club in the semi-finals of the National Challenge Shield.
It has been a glorious campaign for Cumberland, who have gained back-to-back promotions after winning the London and South East Regional Division Two League.
The Camden-based team have also won the London Invitational POLY League, the Middlesex County Tournament, the Poly Invitational Tournament and the Wine Cup at the Bournemouth Seven’s Championships.
