Ahaaaargh! Here be plenty of summer fun
AN auction that included a guitar signed by Led Zeppelin singer and all-round rock god Robert Plant was one of the highlights of last weekend’s Primrose Hill Community Association’s Summer party.
Partygoers were entertained by acts that included a contemporary dance troupe from Cecil Sharpe House – the home of English folk music – and a choir from Primrose Hill primary school. A 30-piece samba band also kept things moving while volunteers rustled up a barbecue to stave off hunger.
Former Labour councillor Jake Sumner helped out on the barbecue, which supplied 700 sausages and burgers to hungry partygoers. He said: “It was one of the best we have done.”
The Association’s Mick Hudspeth said: “The fair oozes community spirit, and thanks to the army of volunteers and the generosity of local people and the business community, the fair continues to flourish and keep the village fête atmosphere alive.” |
