Charlie Stearn with his big catch |
Double take! Big fish are mirror images
TRIUMPHANT fishermen caught a huge carp out of Hampstead ponds on Saturday – and then watched in amazement as a second whopper was reeled in.
The mirror carp weighed a record-breaking 32.5 and 31.5 lbs – the heaviest catch at the ponds for years. Charlie Stearn, 21, reeled in the first fish and only to be trumped by his mate Andy Bellas a few minutes later. Mr Stearn, who lives in Kentish Town, said: “I’ve been fishing for 10 years and I’ve never seen two come out that big on the same day.” |

Comment:
COULD you tell me what pond your fish came from and the bait used. I caught a mirror carp in the second pond hampstead in 1958 weighing 25 and a half pounds.
