Football ace Sebastian, 14, clinches four-year deal with Championship club

SCHOOLBOY Sebastian Eurico is set to pursue his dream of becoming a top footballer after signing a unique contract with a professional club.
The star striker jumped at the chance of joining Nottingham Forest after being presented with a four-year deal instead of the standard two-year contract that promising players are usually offered.
The 14-year-old will leave his home in Camden Road, Camden Town, on Monday and travel to the East Midlands, where he will live in digs near the Championship club’s City Ground.
Preparing for the big move, Sebastian said: “The contract was too good to turn down because not many players my age get offered a four-year deal. The club have also offered me great support with my education, and will help me prepare for my GCSEs next year which are really important to me.”
Sebastian will train up to six times a week with the Forest under-16s squad, as well as playing games every Saturday against youth academies from the likes of Manchester United, Everton and Liverpool.
He will also have to work just as hard off the pitch with study sessions five days a week as he prepares for his exams.
On Sunday, Sebastian signed his contract in front of his team-mates at the Pro Touch Soccer Academy at Market Road in Islington. It was a moment that he thought he may never get again after walking out on another professional club just 10 months ago.
Three years ago the pacey goal machine joined Premier League side Fulham after being spotted playing for the Camden District under-11s team at Regent’s Park. But after becoming unsettled at the club, Sebastian stopped training, and his contract was terminated.
It was an experience that not only has he learned from, but could well make him a stronger player.
“This is a great chance for me,” he said. “I’m going to keep out of trouble and focus on my football and my studies.
“My parents said that if it will make me happy, and that it’s something I really want then I should go for it. I’m ready to follow my dream.”
On Wednesday Sebastian said an emotional farewell to his team-mates at the Pro Touch Academy.
He added: “I’ve only been with Pro Touch for a couple of months, but everyone has made me feel really welcome and like a valued part of the team. I want to thank all the coaches and the players who have helped me get my dream back on track.”
