Harbour heroes shine: Smallest squad wins Arsenal Sixes tourney
THE heroes of Harbour Football Club were jumping for joy on Saturday.
The young stars won the Six-A-Side Arsenal Soccer School Championships at Rosemary Gardens in Islington. It was a giant triumph for Harbour, which has one of the smallest squads playing in the Camden and Islington Youth League.
Having stormed into the final, Harbour beat a side representing hosts Arsenal Soccer School 2-0 thanks to goals from captain Teddy Hanifan and Alfie Dundon.
There was also a special mention for goalkeeper Myles Calderazzo, who didn’t concede a single goal throughout the tournament.
Afterwards manager Nick Matthias (pictured centre) said: “The tournament was really well organised and played in terrific spirit. “Being crowned winners is the perfect boost ahead of the coming season. I’m really proud of all the boys.”
