Royal revellers! Queen’s festival a big hit
THOUSANDS of revellers rallied in the sun on Saturday when they flocked to the ninth Queen’s Crescent Community Festival.
Celebrating the diverse and rich culture which exists in the Gospel Oak area, festival-goers enjoyed a whole host of family fun, including live music, amusement rides and food stalls.
Among the highlights was a vibrant parade from Hampstead-based group Akademi South Asian Dance UK, who wowed the crowds with their energetic routine.
The swirling Shawn Ballantine also entertained onlookers as he showcased his skills in Poi, a dazzling performance art using flags, streamers, neon lights and even fire.
This year was one of the biggest festivals yet, with £25,000 worth of funding behind it. |
