Unwise after the events? Monkeys protest against reaction to Palestine atrocities
CAMPAIGNERS raising awareness over atrocities in Palestine donned monkey costumes during a protest outside St Pancras International station.
The Camden Abu Dis Friends Association (CADFA) were marking the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Geneva Convention – a treaty aiming to protect civilians during wartime.
CADFA – which has forged links between Camden and a small Palestinian town called Abu Dis – argues the British government is in breach of the convention.
Last Wednesday’s monkey costumes symbolised the three wise monkeys proverb “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”. CADFA chose St Pancras International station for the protest due to its links with the international community.
CADFA are taking women from Camden to Abu Dis next month. For more information visit www.camdenabudis.net |
