Supershow sign-off: Blitz blast Knights
CHAMPIONS the London Blitz brought the curtain down on an undefeated season on Sunday with a convincing 53-7 victory over the Farnham Fast Lane Knights at Finsbury Park Stadium, writes Gerald Williamson.
The Blitz were leading 42-0 by half time as they wrapped up their winning campaign in the British American Football League in style.
Running back Deji Alli (pictured) scored his first-ever touchdown for the club, while wide receivers Rod Bradley and Michael Casper also found the end zone.
Gareth Dauley chipped in with two touchdowns, and fullback Jon Chilton rounded off a commanding first-half showing.
Rod Bradley and two safeties from the Blitz defence capped a near-perfect performance, which also saw Ed Morgan put in a flawless kicking display.
Elsewhere the Blitz were denied a double celebration when their youth team missed out on a play-off place, losing 25-14 to the Farnham Knights. |
