Duane O’Achie shows the skills that have attracted attention |
Breakthrough! Duane’s Southend target
TOWERING talent Duane O’Achie is quickly finding his feet – in more ways than one – as he gets used to life at a new club and in a new position.
The midfielder-turned-striker has just started training with League One side Southend, where he is hoping to secure a place in the club’s under-18s squad. The highly rated 16-year-old, who lives in Holloway, has been attracting a lot of attention over the summer.
In July he made a sensational debut for the Yeovil first team in a friendly against Bristol City, and the League One club are interested in signing him.
Duane said: “I have settled in really well at Southend and am hoping that if I work hard enough I can convince the coaches to offer me a permanent contract. I know the club’s under-18s side are looking for strikers, and I’m confident that I can bring something to the team.” |
