Hot wheels Kart demon tracks Euro glory
SPEED demon Joseph Reilly is on track to capture his first European title after taking the kart racing world by storm.
Competing in the Senior Rotax Max class, the
17-year-old has already made a name for himself within the sport after winning the 2008 Junior British Championships.
Now Joseph, who lives in Rochester Road, Camden Town, is ready to race against his rivals in the final of four fixtures in the European circuit, which takes place in Salbris, France, on September 13.
Joseph goes into the final race in confident mood having seen off competition from more than 120 other drivers to take top spot in the table. It would be a massive win for the youngster, who only took up racing four years ago.
Joseph’s working life couldn’t be any more different from his racing as he swaps working in the head office at the Pasha London Nightclub in Victoria to flying around the track at speeds of up to 80mph.
A valued part of
Sheffield’s Strawberry Racing team, Joseph said: “There’s a lot of pressure on me as I’m going into the race as the league leader. I’m a little nervous but I’m going into the race with a great team around me and I’m confident that I can finish the job and take the title.” |
