Samuels takes UK schools’ 100m freestyle title
CAMDEN Swiss Cottage Swimmer Felix Samuels made an outstanding start to the season when he collected a full set of medals at the UK School Games.
The triumphant 16-year-old posted a time of 53.12 seconds to win gold in the 100 metres freestyle.
Felix added to his medal tally with a silver in the 4x100m freestyle team
event, before picking up a bronze in the 50m freestyle.
The Games, which were held at the 50m University Pool in Swansea at the start of the month, is a multi-sport event for the UK’s élite young athletes.
Felix’s coach at Camden Swiss Cottage Dave Hobbs was delighted with the result. “Felix has worked very hard. He took GCSEs in the summer, and has still managed to put in the training in the pool to achieve outstanding results,” he said. |
