Green party! Calthorpe’s 25th
FORMER mayor Barbara Hughes was among the special guests who turned out to help wish the Calthorpe Project in King’s Cross a happy 25th birthday on Saturday.
Ms Hughes, who campaigned alongside the likes of Councillor Brian Woodrow to help get the project started, said she was “extremely proud” to see how far the site has progressed. The garden and community centre offers classes for adults and children to help them learn about the environment.
Crowds flocked to Gray’s Inn Road to join in the celebrations, which included live music, dance and a whole host of fun and games. There was even a performance from Lord Eric Sugumugu, who performed when the Calthorpe Project first opened back on September 29, 1984. |
