Kim’s sharp strike clinches Gunners win

Women’s Football
Premier League
Birmingham 0, Arsenal 1

KIM Little was on target as Arsenal Ladies kicked off the defence of their Premier League title on Sunday with a win.
The Scotland international struck after only two minutes to help Tony Gervaise’s side get off to the perfect start ahead of what promises to be a testing campaign.
Birmingham never gave up but the champions showed great experience to keep a clean sheet and secure all three points.

South-East League
Tottenham 0, Norwich 0

KEEPER Ebony Cabey-Gooden helped Spurs snatch a share of the spoils in a tense encounter at Broxbourne on Sunday.
Supporters had to wait until the second half for the first real shot on goal when Nichola Cable’s fierce 18-yard drive forced a smart save from the visitors’ keeper.
At the other end, good defending limited the Canaries to long-range efforts – one forcing Cabey-Gooden into a spectacular finger-tip save. Minutes later a last gasp-tackle by Ryah Vyse denied Norwich again to help Spurs stretch their unbeaten run to four games.

Greater London League
Division Two North
Katabella 2, Northwood 1

KATABELLA continued their good start to the season on Sunday with a 2-1 home win.
Kats turned early possession into a deserved goal when Jeanine Cali finished clinically.
Captained by Amy Lamont, the home side dominated midfield and doubled their lead when winger Lindsey Hall created space on the edge of the area before blasting past the keeper from an acute angle.
Northwood hit back before the break with a well-taken corner, but the Kats held out for three points to move second in the table.

Home Counties League

STAR striker Charlotte Matthews struck twice in Hampstead’s 2-0 win over Whetstone Wanderers on Saturday in the under-11s age category.
Meanwhile on Sunday, Hampstead’s under-13s hit Brentford for six. Cerina Bhavanni hit a hat-trick and Hannah Dalgleish scored twice, before Lotte Bridgeham completed a 6-1 rout.
