Waiting time for physiotherapy
• I READ with some bemusement a letter from a correspondent to your newspaper (September 24) about delays in accessing our direct access physiotherapy service at the Royal Free Hospital.
Checking the patient’s records, I discovered that the waiting time of two months she claims she was offered for treatment in our department was in fact just over two weeks – 10 working days.
We make every effort to see all our patients as quickly as possible and try to ensure that no one waits as long as two months. In fact the average is three weeks. On her other point about the choice of male or female physiotherapist, we accept that perhaps this message could be made a little clearer and will be taking action in future.
