Zack super-strike lights up young guns’ goal-fest
THERE was a glut of goals this weekend as scores of youngsters competed across the capital.
Chapel picked up two good wins in the Camden and Islington Youth League at Market Road.
On Monday the club’s under-10s side netted a 1-0 victory over rivals Angel Islington thanks to a stunning strike from Zack O’Neill.
Meanwhile goals from Charley Bailey, Lewis Dickinson and Jack Stevens saw Chapel’s under-12s beat Peel 3-0. Striker Dickinson has been in sensational form, scoring twice against Islington Admiral in Chapel’s previous outing.
In the Regent’s Park Youth League, Hampstead Hawks chalked up their first points in the Under-10s ‘A’ League with a convincing 4-1 victory over Somers Town.
Kai Steinsson-Brady opened the scoring before captain Luke Dyer doubled the advantage. Somers Town pulled a goal back, before strikes from Joe Johnson-Antoni and Che Ove-Locraine sealed the win.
In the Undet-9s League Hampstead Eagles scored their first goals of the campaign in a 2-2 draw with Primrose Hill.
Twice Hill took the lead but a goal from Zac Turner and an injury-time strike by George Karageorgis saw the Eagles battle back to take a point.
Elsewhere, Isledon Wolves continued their fine form in the Harrow Youth League.
Hot-shot Tommy Smith scored a hat-trick to slay the Kensington Dragons in the
under-12s age group.
Jourdi Massueme, Jason Rice and the superb Liam Bristow were also on target as Wolves climbed to the top of the table with a 6-2 victory.
Isledon are also top in the under-16s age category following their 4-0 win over Greenford Celtic.
Fady El Sayed gave injury-hit Wolves a lead they never looked like relinquishing, especially with Charles Steadman-Clarke marshalling the defence.
Hakim Musa added a second, before Billal Louzri bagged a brace to complete the rout. |
