Roman’s view of the Bridge is so artistic!
NEWS from Moscow is that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has become a collector of modern art, absurdist stuff.
Even more absurd is the news from Stamford Bridge that Patrick Vieira could be heading to Chelsea.
I have a theory for this strange happening. Apart from impressing his new lady with lines like “Would you like to see my Pollocks?” Abramovich is collecting double-winning players because Chelsea don’t have any!
Last January he treated himself to an Anelka. When he saved Chelsea he acquired a Petit, and now he’s after an Old Master Vieira.
We all know he finally got his Cole; maybe next it will be a Ljungberg, a Campbell or even a Pires.
Don’t rule it out, they fit the Chelsea criteria: cheap or free, over 30 and still playing… just!
Tottenham are also lurking and have been building their own Arsene Wenger collection – admittedly with poor efforts like David Bentley and other rejects.
They would love at least one genuine Wenger.
It would be a sad sight to witness a fading Arsenal legend playing out his final days for either of those two clubs – and would ruin the memories of him knocking out their midfields with hard tackles and Vicks Vapor Rub fumes.
And so, I’d like to offer him a third option. Come and join us down on the Castlehaven Road pitch.
We don’t pay as much, but we can guarantee a game a week, your dignity and your status as an Arsenal legend.
