Early morning live - Dappy and Fazer hard at work

N-DUBZ returned to their old stomping ground yesterday where they gave the New Journal an exclusive first live performance of their new single.
The former Haverstock pupils turned up to the Roundhouse for an early morning acoustic recording of I Need You for Radio 1Xtra.
Tulisa was too ill to perform in the end but Dappy and Fazer soldiered on.
Dappy said: “Last time we spoke to the Journal we were broke as hell, not one person knew our lyrics, we didn’t have a pot to pee in. Uncle B [Dappy’s father] kept us alive – sadly he passed, we carried on and here we are today. Now we’ve won three Mobos, gone platinum, number one single, one of the bestsellers of last year. Now we’ve got a bit more money, couple of chains, couple of jewels, more girls – we always had girls.”
But despite their success, they say they’re still devoted to Camden. Fazer said: “I was in Denton this morning chilling with a couple of my youngers before they went to school. When we get a second off we’re here. Our job is so demanding at the moment.”
And Dappy left a message to Camden’s youngsters: “I know it’s hard in Camden. I know it’s mad and messy and gritty but keep strong and do your thing. Anything you want to do you can. We had a dream we were going to be famous one day, that was when we were crap. We’re famous now.”
The band’s new album Against All Odds is out November 16. Their appearance was part of this week’s BBC Electric Proms.
