Magic back in midfield

Nasri’s return boosts Arsenal

FANS may not have realised it on Tuesday, but the Gunners’ season was given a timely boost when injury-hit midfielder Samir Nasri finally returned to action.
While supporters were watching Arsenal concede a stoppage-time goal against Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in the Champions League, Nasri was reflecting on his first appearance for the club in almost three months.
The French international has been out of action since breaking his fibula on the opening morning of Arsenal’s training camp in Austria in the summer.
His long spell on the sidelines didn’t show on Tuesday as he reminded fans of his creative flair when he played a defence-splitting pass to set up Gilles Sunu for the opening goal in a reserves match against Wolves, which the Gunners drew 2-2.
Nasri, who lasted almost an hour on his return, told Arsenal.com afterwards: “I feel good. I was a little bit tired at the end of the first half but I am so happy to be back on the pitch.
“It was the first serious injury I have had. Two years ago in Marseilles I twisted my ankle but it was not bad like this one.
“I was sick also, I had meningitis, so that was bad, but this is the first time I have broken a bone in my body.
“But now I am really happy, I had a quick recovery and everything is fine.”
Meanwhile Arsene Wenger believes that Arsenal are “still in a strong position” in Group H of the Champions League despite their frustrating 1-1 draw against AZ Alkmaar on Tuesday.
Captain Cesc Fabregas gave the Gunners a deserved lead, but the north Londoners were made to pay for failing to make the most of their dominance when David Mendes da Silver scored in injury-time to snatch a point.

I really like Samir Nasri cause he is one of most versatile midfilders Arsenal have. His movement on and off the ball is magnificent. He helped us last season when Fransesc Fabregas was out and he is one of the best signings Arsene Wenger has made in the last two summer tranfer seasons. He is the next Zidane.
