Keeping up the campaign Arsenal celebrates anti-racism at the Emirates
THE Gunners celebrated the diversity and equality they have within the club on Saturday during their 3-1 Premier League victory over Birmingham at the Emirates Stadium.
The special “Arsenal For Everyone” matchday, which has been running for three years, continues the club’s work with Kick It Out – football’s anti-racism campaign – and the Equality Standard.
All the first team players, including Italian goalkeeper Vito Mannone, wore special T-shirts to show their support for the initiative. Not to be left out, legendary mascot Gunnersaurus also changed from the more traditional club colours for the day.
The perimeter boards surrounding the pitch displayed the “Arsenal For Everyone” slogan in the 12 different languages spoken by the players included in Arsenal’s first team squad.
Along with placing a special flag on the pitch before kick-off, the club also unveiled a banner, positioned on the upper tier, displaying all the first team squad’s national flags. |
