Checkout charity Staff at Sainsbury’s dig deep
EMPLOYEES at Sainsbury’s Camden Town have presented local charity the Camden Listening and Counselling Centre (CLCC) with a four-figure cheque.
The centre, which provides both short and long-term support for people in crisis, was designated the store’s first “nominated charity”.
The sum of £1778.50 was raised through a raffle and a cut-price sale of high-end products to employees.
Managers hope the branch will choose a new charity to raise money for each year.
The CLCC was chosen at a meeting of the store’s colleagues’ council earlier this year after reviewing bids from a number of applicants. |
