Town’s late scramble off bottom
KENTISH Town climbed off the bottom of the table in the Premier Division of the Spartan South Midlands League on Saturday after scoring twice in six minutes to salvage a home draw against Biggleswade United.
With 10 minutes to go, the Townies looked to be heading for their ninth defeat in 13 games as they trailed their visitors 2-0.
In a frantic finale, however, Kentish Town hit back to snatch a point thanks to goals from Joe O’Connor and Nathan Knox.
Town will now be able to focus fully on their league campaign after being knocked out of the Premier Division Cup on Tuesday.
Goals from Nick Antoniou and Mariusz Serwin couldn’t stop the semi-pro side slumping to a 4-2 defeat away at Broxbourne Borough.
Manager Rakatahr Hudson said after the cup game: “We have definitely been better in the last two games then in the previous four or five.” |
