P*ss off! Church leaves Forum

GOODBYE men in little pink skirts. Farewell Snakebite and hordes of antipodeans stumbling about the streets.
After six years of wacky behaviour, gallons of beer and the odd stripper, The Church, a weekly party event at the Forum music venue blamed by neighbours for ruining weekends in Kentish Town is moving on.
The event, which unusually hosts nightclub-style entertainment on Sunday afternoons rather than Saturday nights, is to move to Clapham.
It is specifically promoted to Australians and New Zealanders living in London.
No reason for its exit has been provided by the Mama Group, the venue’s owner, who have regularly fielded complaints from people living nearby. It will come to an end in January.
On The Church’s own website, organisers describe themselves as providing “a haven for its disciples who want to have fun and get p*ssed in a country far removed from the sun-drenched shores of home”.
“I’m absolutely delighted, we’re all over the moon about it,” said Caroline Hill of campaign group Kentish Town Road Action.
Pat Gibbon, of Highgate Road Residents Association, added: “At least I’ll be able to have people for tea again on Sundays.”
Lib Dem ward councillor Ralph Scott said: “We are pleased that the Forum has worked with local residents and councillors and listened to concerns.”
Mama Group declined to comment, and the organisers of The Church could not be reached to expand on comments they made on Facebook which said: “The Forum has been a fantastic venue but let’s face it, it’s not the easiest place to get to. So we’re moving right next door to the busiest train station in the UK, Clapham Junction.”
