A Blanc Christmas
Celebrity chef joins BBC star in festive lights ceremony
IN a cap and coat buttoned up from the cold, newsreader Fiona Bruce followed up her elastic Beyoncé impersonations on Children In Need on Friday night by heading to Hampstead for a more reserved performance.
The Antiques Roadshow presenter joined chef Raymond Blanc – star of The Restaurant – in switching on the Christmas lights along the High Street on Sunday.
It might still be November but real-life reindeers and sleighs turned the Hampstead into a winter wonderland.
Mr Blanc, whose bakery outlet Maison Blanc is a firm fixture in the High Street, said: “This is the second year that I have turned on the Christmas lights in Hampstead, twice successfully. The first time was with Ronnie Wood and today I had the pleasure of sharing my duties with Fiona Bruce. Fiona has many gifts and one of them is cooking. She does the best chicken pie.” |
