Golden Eagles – Hot-shot trio go goal crazy as Hampstead net 10-1 win
UNSTOPPABLE Johnny Novak was the inspiration behind Hampstead Eagles’ resounding victory over Somers Town on Saturday in the Camden and Regent’s Park Youth League.
The midfielder was voted player-of-the-match by his team-mates after bagging five goals and four assists to lead the Eagles to a memorable 10-1 win in the
Under-9s Division.
Under normal circumstances striker Ben Woodhouse would have been named as the star player after he put in a lethal display of finishing to score four goals.
Sonny Dowsett also put in a good shift, scoring a stunning opener to ignite the goal rush.
Hampstead could have done with a goal in their last outing in the Camden and Islington Youth League at Market Road.
The under-9s side suffered a 1-0 defeat against Isledon Wolves, with man-of-the-match Deon Marshall netting the only goal.
Staying in the Under-9s Division, Lyndhurst were forced to settle for a share of the spoils in their match against Islington Admiral Youth.
Lyndhurst took the lead through Charlie Alloway, but Admiral refused to give up and soon pulled the scores level.
Goals from Abraham Henao and Billy Leonard gave Lyndhurst a 3-1 lead, but Admiral struck twice in the final five minutes to snatch a point in a thrilling 3-3 draw.
Isledon Wolves continued their outstanding run in the league with victories in three more age groups.
In the Under-11s ‘B’ Division they beat Soccerscool
4-0 thanks to a double strike from Bassan Menhal and a goal each from Jake Woollard and Zeki Musa.
Isledon’s under-12s finally broke their duck for the season with a well-deserved 2-1 win over ‘A’ Class.
Despite going a goal down, Wolves bounced back to record their first victory in seven attempts courtesy of efforts from Jourdi Massueme and Felix Romer.
Hotshot Alfie Costello scored a hat-trick as Wolves completed a perfect run of results with a 3-0 win over Locomotive Youth in the Under-13s ‘A’ Division. |
