Where you can pay bills by cash
• THE vast majority of Islington residents are choosing to pay council bills quickly and securely by electronic methods, such as direct debit (Cash snub, March 16). It makes sense that the council modernises its service in line with customer attitudes. This is why we are no longer accepting cash payments at Contact Islington.
Residents can still pay bills across the counter at Contact Islington by cheque, credit or debit card. However, the easiest way to pay council bills is over the phone, or via the internet. These payments can be made 24 hours a day, seven days a week, without having to make the journey to Contact Islington.
Bills can also be paid by cash at banks and post offices. Banks will accept cash payments for business rates, council tax, dog fouling and street litter fines, housing rents, service charges and Link Line fees. Post offices will accept cash payments for council tax and housing rents and service charges.
