Lots of Easter fun on offer
• HORNSEY Lane Tenants’ Association (TA) was offered council funding to run after-school and holiday activities (Estate playscheme starved of funding, March 30).
It runs a successful after-school provision, but chose not to go ahead with activities this Easter.
This was not the council’s decision. We will continue to support the TA and we all hope that it will be able to provide holiday playschemes again.
Parents will be pleased to hear that the council is running an Easter scheme at the Cape Project nearby. There are other schemes at Cornwallis, Hargrave Park School, Whittington Park and Caxton House along with loads of others across the borough. This compares favourably with neighbouring authorities.
Throughout the borough there are numerous Easter activities for children and young people. We’ve organised holiday playschemes for 10-19 year-olds until April 15, with fun activities including music, dance, art and sports coaching.
Three adventure playgrounds will be open and parks will host nature walks, craft workshops and environment days.
The Easter programme for Summer University is an exciting new venture. Children and young people can enrol now, and for £5 can enjoy a range of exciting and rewarding activities. For details, contact the hotline on 020 7527 5641.
