MINISTER JOINS TV VET TO GREET CRUELTY LAW
TELEVISION’S Animal Hospital has been visited by a government minister launching new legislation to prevent cruelty to pets.
Barry Gardiner, minister for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, joined TV vet David Grant at the RSPCA’s Harmsworth Memorial Animal Hospital, in Sonderburg Road, Finsbury Park, for the launch of the Animal Welfare Act, which comes into effect today (Friday).
Mr Gardiner said: “For the first time ever, there will be legislation to stop the suffering of pet animals before it occurs.”
