Lease boost for garden
• CULPEPER Garden is absolutely wonderful. Local people should be grateful to those who have worked to create such a beautiful oasis in our area.
Let’s hope they soon raise the £5,000 needed to build a new office (Garden volunteers dig deep to find last £5,000, April 13). It is ungracious of the Tribune to blame the current shortfall in Culpeper’s funding on a loss of council grant some seven years ago.
Culpeper’s access to much larger grants has been secured precisely because the Lib Dem council recently gave the garden a long lease on its site – something the old Labour council always failed to do. BETTY HARRIS
