Arcade rejected
PLANS for a “super arcade” at the old Nag’s head pub in Holloway have been refused by Islington council following a campaign police and head teachers.
The borough’s licensing committee threw out the plan on the grounds that it might encourage anti social behaviour.
Protesters feared that the gaming arcade would have brought in more illegal street traders, just as police and the Lib Dem council, were finally managing to remove them from where they regularly annoy shoppers outside the Nag’s Head shopping centre.
Islington North MP Jeremy Corbyn and councillors from all parties opposed the project.
Developers Leisure World are expected to appeal.
