Hospital’s cardiac care team saluted
TWO nursing teams from Barts Hospital were honoured at the first Cardiac Nursing Awards ceremony on Wednesday.
The hospital’s cardiac rehabilitation team received an award in recognition of its work with Bengali patients.
The team recognised Bengali patients had a high mortality rate from coronary heart disease and designed a rehabilitation programme for them. The programme is designed to help patients regain strength, to prevent their condition worsening and to cut the risk of future heart problems.
The hospital’s heart failure team was saluted for its work in helping patients to self-manage their condition.
The awards ceremony was held at the Café Royal in central London.
