Prize writers for arts festival
FORMER Orange literary prizewinner Lionel Shriver, children’s writer Michael Rosen, and poet John Hegley, are among celebrities taking part at in the Holloway Arts Festival and carnival from June 15 to July 14. Ms Shriver, famous for her book about motherhood gone wrong, We Need to talk About Kevin, will be interviewed by psychologist Angela Joyce at the Resource Centre 357 Holloway Road (next to Waitrose) on June 15 from 7pm to 8.30pm. £12 or £6 concessions: 020 7388 8822.
Mr Rosen will also be holding a poetry workshops for children aged three to seven (or the young at heart) at Manor Gardens Library, Manor Gardens, Archway, from 4.30pm to 5.30pm on July 3. Tickets £2 each: 020 7527 7840.
The main carnival will be held at Whittington Park on July 14. Poet John Hegley and classical pianist, Mark Schwartzentruber also perform.
