Have your say on waste disposal
ISLINGTON Council is asking residents to say how the borough’s waste should be dealt with at an exhibition in the N1 Centre on Wednesday, from 10am to 7pm. At present each household in the borough produces 1 tonne of waste a year. Waste that can’t be recycled is either burned or landfilled but these options will not be possible in future. Islington Council wants local people to tell them what they would be prepared to do to reduce the amount of waste they produce, and help find new ways and places for dealing with it in their area.
The exhibition is part of the North London Waste Plan involving the boroughs of Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest.
