Paper will be a good listen
A “TALKING” newspaper is ready to go live with its first pilot edition.
The free paper – called Talking News Islington – is an audio cassette specially designed for the blind and visually impaired and people who have trouble reading.
It means these people can receive up-to-date news from the Tribune and other newspapers.
Eight volunteers are now helping project organiser Elizabeth Jones.
If the pilot edition, being launched on September 9 to coincide with Talking News Week, is successful, it will mean a regular weekly tape. Anyone interested in receiving a copy, or volunteering their services, should call
Ms Jones on 020 7272 5481.
