Bloom or bust in bid for floral excellence
WITH clipboard in hand, judges have toured Islington to see if the borough’s floral displays, plant tubs and window boxes come up to scratch.
It is part of the fiercely competitive London in Bloom competition, which brings even the most laid-back gardeners out in a nervous rash.
Private front gardens, schools, and companies have all spruced up for the contest.
The judges are due to decide the London winner this month and to announce the successful borough in a ceremony at Arsenal’s Ashburton Grove stadium in September.
The winner will go forward to Britain in Bloom awards in 2008.
