Being for the benefit of Mr Kite
YOUNG kite-makers took over Paradise Park in Holloway on Wednesday afternoon. More than 100 youngsters and their parents turned up for the Islington Council-run kite workshop in the park, off Sheringham Road.
The event was so successful that organisers ran low on materials, with the gold-coloured backing cardboard proving a particular favourite.
Farida Djoudi, 33, a mother-of-four, said: “My children had a great time this afternoon. I like it because it takes them away from the television and it’s nice to get them being creative. “I try to encourage them to make things and now we hope to go to Hampstead Heath to try out their new kites.”
The next kite-making workshop will be at Edward Square in Barnsbury on September 8 between 2pm and 4pm.
