Con callers thwarted
TWO women con artists were outwitted by a pensioner when they tried to trick their way into her Islington home.
The women, aged about 28 and 40, followed the 86-year-old pensioner back to her home in Liverpool Road on Friday afternoon.
One knocked at the grandmother’s door and asked if she could leave some money for a neighbour.
The woman tried to edge her way into the flat, but the pensioner blocked her path. The two callers eventually left empty-handed.
