Design festival build-up
LEADING figures in the architectural world are coming to Islington for a prestigious festival next year. The month-long London Festival of Architecture will promote new approaches to design and town planning. Festival co-ordinator Zoe McLeod said: “London is an international centre of excellence for architecture and this festival is about recognising and celebrating this fact.
“We want to get the public engaged with their environment and this festival will have a lot of family-oriented events as well as events aimed at professionals.”
The bi-annual festival has grown since its inception in 2004. Next year, events will be held in Covent Garden, the South Bank, Canary Wharf and South Kensington.
It runs from June 20 to July 20. For more information, go to www.londonbiennale.org.uk
