Lute player Paula Chateauneuf
Sunday classics return
RENOWNED lute player Paula Chateauneuf leads this autumn’s line-up of Sunday morning chamber music at the Nave in Islington. The American musician opens a programme of concerts at the St Paul’s Road venue on Sunday.
The Allegri Quartet, who packed out their show in the first season this spring, will return on November 11.
Director Tom Hope said his mission was to bring music to “people who might otherwise think it is not for them or who are unable to access the more established venues”.
He added: “It’s been a joy to see so many children get so involved.”
The season includes violinist Monica Huggett and harpist Angel Padilla Crespo, as well performances of the Renaissance songs of Dowland and Campion.
Children go free to the 11.30am concerts. For adults, there is a recommended donation of £10.
