Estate with a bee in its bonnet
A SWARM of visitors had a Finsbury estate buzzing on Sunday. The Redbrick estate, in Old Street, now has its own beehive.
Residents learned how to handle bees, sampled some Islington own-brand honey and make candles out of beeswax on Sunday. Ian Bailey, beekeeper at Hackney City Farm, and Alessia Bolis, who will look after the Redbrick estate hive, passed on tips at the day organised by EC1 New Deal for Communities, which provided the beehive.
