‘Cuba all around you’
THE colour and passion of Cuba came to the Clerkenwell last night (Thursday), as one of its leading artists salsa’ed into town. Coinciding with the 40th anniversary of Che Guevara’s death, the bright, African-influenced art of Choco was unveiled at the Chambers Gallery in Long Lane.
Choco, whose clients include Robert Redford and Steven Spielberg, flew into London especially to attend the event. After apologising for his stage fright, the artist told the audience that everything he wanted to say about Cuba was all around them. He added: “My greatest satisfaction is to make my art universal. But I’ve talked enough – it is all on the walls.”
