Meet the climate cops protecting our environment
A NEW breed of police is coming to a home near you – and they are all under the age of 11.
The newest recruits are Thornhill Primary School’s Climate Cops. The kids have been taught to tell off their own parents for crimes against the enviroment, such as leaving the TV on standby and boiling a full kettle for one cup.
Islington South and Finsbury MP Emily Thornberry visited the children at the Barnsbury school on Wednesday for the launch of the £20million Greener Schools programme, organised by energy supplier npower.
Ms Thornberry said: “The most effective environmental campaigners are the young. The Climate Cops Academy is a great chance to train them up and then send them home to remind their families how to save energy.”
