Robber strikes in his street
A TEENAGER is behind bars this week for his part in two knifepoint robberies in the Archway street where he lives.
Junior Moreira, 18, of Archway Road, and his accomplice, Stalin Herrera, 23, of Bermondsey, south London, were sentenced to terms of 30 months and 36 months respectively for two robberies in Archway Road in August.
Appearing at Wood Green Crown Court last month, Moreira admitted two counts of robbery and one of receiving stolen goods, and Herrera two counts of robbery.
Islington police say Herrera stabbed their first victim, a 23-year-old man, in the hand as he rifled through his pockets before taking his mobile phone.
Just half an hour later the men robbed a 23-year-old student as she waited for a bus. She put up a fight as Herrera tried to snatch her bag but gave in when he pulled out a six-inch blade.
The men were caught soon afterwards when police drove the victim around the area in a search for the suspects.
